Reading Siddhartha was an adventure that I very much enjoyed. It was full of many ups and downs, just like human life. I related to this book on so many levels because of the fact that Siddhartha was completely human and felt all of the emotions that I do in my own life. I have many good days when I feel productive and motivated. On other days, I feel stressed and extremely exhausted. I really like to see that someone who is so respected and followed is also like me. I found that seeing Siddhartha go through the tough times also inspires me to get through the days I don’t feel in the mood. I believe that perseverance is a skill that is developed over time and I’m learning just as Siddhartha did while growing into the best version of ourselves as our life goes on. As an example, Siddhartha was having a difficult time overcoming his bad habit of gambling. Even though my problems are very different from his, I feel that the effort we put to improve is the same. There is a fear of wasting time in a lot of people and it’s something that I can very much relate to because life feels like that sometimes. I think Siddhartha had a little bit of that fear too while also experiencing new things in his life. I appreciate all of the things I have learned from Siddhartha and especially what I learned about leadership and having strength to keep carrying on.
I really enjoyed watching this video because it explains that research shows that growth of mindset has a big effect on how motivated a person is. I will be working on my mindset to see how that will effect my own life.
Siddhartha was honestly a really solid protagonist, it was fun seeing how he changed along his journey and how differently he was perceived by different people. But it was really nice to see how human he was despite his almost perfect exterior, how he, as you said, was human too in the end and succumbed to his own emotions. I’m glad we could both take something out of Siddhartha’s book(quite literally hehe)!
