Don’t give up. Not yet. The story of Siddhartha opens up many closed eyes of those who seek for their purpose, truth, future, and more. Siddhartha was a young man with a very open mind. He knew what he wanted or so he thought. He first left his father to become a Samana, then left Gautama, a teacher, philosopher, and spiritual leader to further his journey to his enlightenment. Siddhartha underwent tremendous pain and struggles to push him to find enlightenment. This was a way they thought would bring out the inner or true self. He would starve himself and walk for hours on end. Another big struggle he encountered were the childpeople. They brought out a different side of him he has never seen before. He lived the life of lust, money, gambling, drinking, etc. This was not the path he for sought. It was a dead end. We are not perfect, no one is. As humans, we will eventually hit dead ends and fall in dark situations that we feel we can never overcome. What now? Certainly not suicide, right? Siddhartha was at his lowest point of his entire life. Just as he was about to crash at his demise, he sees a small glimpse of light. He was awakened by the river. Weird right? No, the river was an example of what we all need. It represented life itself, time, and the path to enlightenment. He used his struggles and hardships as a booster to his goal. He soon realized that teachers could not show him his path, but within himself he could. As a teenager, I think more about my meaning and purpose than I think I should. It is good to question yourself. Just make sure to remind yourself to not give up because your answer could be a couple more feet ahead of you.
The way that you explain information and apply it to everyday life is amazing. The mood of this blog post is very informative and powerful similar to a coach giving you a pre-game speech. I agree that we as teenagers should think more about our meaning in life and what we are going to do. However, I also agree with you that we should not dwell on these important things for too long. We should enjoy our youth and have fun, but at the same time, we need to focus on school and be prepared for our future.
