Sleep is one of the most important things for the human body. On average, humans spend about ⅓ of their entire life asleep. So why is it in their teenage years, when the human body requires the most sleep, does everyone sleep so little? From my experiences, most of the people I knew during middle to high school, were occasionally pulling all-nighters or simply getting about half the recommended amount of sleep. This cannot be healthy and should be addressed as this is a very important phase in the development of humans. I believe that one of the main causes of deprivation of sleep is teenagers don’t manage their time as efficiently as they should. One way to be able to learn to manage time is to find something to do a bit later at night like 7 or 8. If you keep this in your mind. This could be anything as simple as streaming a show with your friends, to playing a game you want to play. The idea behind this is simple. To be able to enjoy whatever activity you decide to do, you will be motivated and be able to sit down and grind out whatever work you need to finish. And with this, you will get more sleep as it artificially decreases your mental deadline, allowing yourself to gain more time to sleep, getting work done efficiently, and still having time to do whatever it is that you enjoy.
I LOVE SLEEP. But sometimes we place what we do when we are awake with greater importance. Guess it’s not that healthy. Oh well. It makes us appreciate sleep more I guess
