life.

Life is known to have its ups and downs. Both the good and the bad. Especially during this time, the world feels like it will end soon. As students, actually, as human beings, many of us find it essential to have human interaction: to eat out, to go on a walk, to go shopping, or just to have a simple conversation with friends or family. It can feel especially lonely and empty for those people and it is truly devastating how much that can hurt someone. Others, who call themselves introverts, like myself, can find quarantine soothing, relaxing, and relieving despite all the work that is given. Though there are things that are still needed to get done, it seems that the workload of hiding from the fears of being called out during class, getting judged of what you wear/look, or getting teased, but having to laugh it off are eased. Personally, quarantine has been a light toll on me. Although my social life has been affected, it has given me time to reflect on my own life and those who surround me, those who stuck with me and those who, unfortunately, gave up on our friendship. To be honest, it has been harder than ever to be positive and it’s hard seeing people you love walk away from you. At least, if the pain is dealt with right now, you won’t have to later and now you know who you can rely on or not.

On the brighter side, school hasn’t been torturing. Most teachers are being thoughtful, understanding, and lenient, but those who aren’t, bring stress on us. It is understandable, though, everyone is adjusting and it isn’t someone’s fault for dealing with technical difficulties, but perhaps it’s us. We, humans, need to be patient and open-minded in order to realize the world’s current situation. Together, six or more feet apart, of course, as students, teachers, family, and friends, will eventually get through this. The one thing we can keep holding onto is the idea that one day there will be a vaccine, treatment, or cure and everything will be back to normal. After being alone for so long, being reunited with everyone will be refreshing… but, for now, we can only hope.
