A New Normal

Although the journey of being in quarantine has only been 2 months or so, it has felt like years to me. If I was to look back and ask myself how I was faring a month ago, I would have responded by saying I felt empty. However, that was the past. Nowadays, I no longer feel empty. I fill my days by watching movies, doing homework, and practicing. Being in quarantine has given me new opportunities to try new things out and spend more time with my family. I eat dinner with my family now, as long as watch TV occasionally with them. The dining table and couch that I share with my family are amongst the few happy places that I have along with my bed and the golf course. In these places, I forget what is going on around the world, and the dangers that the world is presenting by engulfing myself with movies and my family. Quarantine has also let me learn to live one day at a time and not think too far ahead.

Despite all these positive things that quarantine has brought out, there are also the negative ones. Things such as procrastination and my sleep schedule. Before quarantine, I was able to wake up on time regardless of how many hours of sleep I got. I was also able to finish my class work and homework on time and still have time to practice. However, with my schedule in quarantine, I procrastinate and spend the day watching movies and playing with my cousin. My attention span for homework has decreased and shifted towards other things. On top of the procrastination, I have also shifted my sleep schedule from 2am to 10 am.

These little negative things are mine are tiny compared to other people. With time and discipline, I can fix these little annoyances. So my experience with quarantine so far has been okay and it has become my new normal.
