A Day of Eating in Quarantine

Eating in quarantine for me has been pretty easy, and has actually gotten me to imporove my diet in an effort to better myself for when things come back and the school year rolls around again. I have been cutting my calories a good amount, but still eating many of the things that I like. My eating routine is pretty repetitive, but it works for me.

I start out the day with a whey chocolate protein shake consisting of frozen bananas, ice, water, and some powdered peanut butter. I have that at about 11:30-12, which fills me up until I have lunch at about 2 or 3. Lunch for me consists of either low-fat hot dogs or a Costco chicken patty with a bun, and some strawberries or chips. I have dinner at around 6:30, where I eat with my family, so I have whatever my mom makes. Later in the evening is the most important time of eating for someone like me who stays up to at least until 2 am every night, so I try to eat things that will fill me up, but aren’t too many calories. At around 9 I will usually have a bowl of yogurt with some granola on it, which holds me over until about 11 or 12. The last thing I eat on most nights is bag of regular popcorn, which is actually an amazing snack to have (granted you’re not having kettle corn or something overly buttery) as it is very low in calories for how much you get to eat of it.

My whole diet really revolves around a lowish calorie intake consisting of foods that I like, so it feels like I’m not really dieting at all. The only thing that I really changed since quarantine started was that I no longer snack as much and try to keep foods like pizza and ice cream to a minimum. I would suggest to whoever is reading this that you cut out the foods that you can go without, and try to find healthier variants of the foods that you love.
