My island started out with two villagers, these animals are random. In my case, they are Rory and Reneè. I loved both of them, because they were my only source of any social contact whenever my friends are offline. As time passed my village grew, I got Rosie, Fauna, and Clay. Later, got Lopez and Hopkins and Rocco. Even though Rocco wasn’t the most loved villager in the community, I bought him a bomberjacket when we were close enough friends to gift each other. However, he left shortly after. I told my friends that he left and they rejoiced.I was offended, but it was understandable, he was a cranky hippo living in a construction site. Not to mention he’s puke green.

My friends wanted to rate my villagers, which I obviously did. I liked all my villagers, especially Reneè, Rory, and Rosie. My friends said that Reneè, Rory, and Clay were “ugly villagers.” I was offended at them slandering my fictional animal characters. After they rated them, my one friend sent me TikToks of people beating up their “ugly villagers” with their nets. Obviously, they had to include Reneè, Rory, or Clay.

This brought me thinking, why do people hate these “ugly villagers,” even if they’re not that bad looking. I’ve seen way worse villagers and I like all of mine. When listening to “Is Cereal Soup?”, something sounded familiar. Even though those villagers aren’t necessarily ugly, they are classified as ugly because enough people had a consensus gentium thing where they absolutely defined a certain villager as ugly, they’re classified as an “ugly villager”. A villager can be ugly, cute, or something creepy, but that’s on the person, not some stigma. Even though it is classified by a community, because once you start to break down what makes a villager ugly and what not, the line starts to blur into a spectrum. There is obviously ugly villagers, but that’s on the eyes of the beholder.

I’m putting this here for a life update.

Lately, I’ve seen people suffering the pain of staying indoors. But for me, I’M LITERALLY THRIVING. Anyways, I’ve been doing running, yoga, HIIT, and most of all, Animal Crossing and homework. I’ve been playing this for nearly a month and I’ve finally gotten the Nook’s Cranny upgrade and I’m today years old when I found out that you can talk to KK Slider for specific music pieces. Hope you guys have a very adequate quarantine.
