League of legends is the best free to play game. There are so many factors that contribute to this statement and why this is, but to make things easy, using broader ideas will shorten this a bit. The main reasons LoL (league of legends) is the best free to play game is because Riot Games, the company that made LoL, provides a positive environment for their players, there are many different game modes and characters, and Riot Games listens to their fanbase and caters to them.

A little bit of background on what LoL exactly is. The whole objective of the game to destroy the enemy nexus, located at their spawn point. So players will fight against each other in lanes on the map. These lanes being Top, Middle, Bottom, and Jungle. This is the game, at its core. There is much more to it than what one would expect.

So going down the list of reasons why LoL is the best, the first reason being about how Riot does their best to make the gaming environment as positive as possible. With frequent patches, or updates, that come out, this ensures the game is fair. For example, there is one character who’s win rate that is way too high since the last patch, they will nerf, or de-buff, that character to make them not as strong. The same works vice versa if a characters win rate is too low. This makes the game as even as possible, making sure that in order to win, you do not need to abide by the win rates and who’s win rate is good at that time, you can just play who you want.

LoL has multiple different game modes. The first traditional mode being draft pick, where every player is assigned one role to play on the team. There is then a ranked version of this, where winning or losing changed how much league points you have, which is essentially showing how good you are at the game. All the different game modes, with the 155 different unique characters you can chose from, this gives the game so much content and material to cover, so you will never get bored.

Riot hosts events for many things, the most often is events for skins. Character skins come out often so they made passes for them, which allow you to get rewarded for playing. These passes generate tokens, and these tokens can can be used to buy in game items like icons, emotes, other character skins, etc. Some events are bigger than others though. For this one skin line called K/DA, they made an entire K-pop group for these skins, had singers sing songs as the characters, and animated music videos using the song.

LoL has the best fanbase and the best company providing so much to keep them going. It is definitely working, as LoL has 150 million registered players. The amount they do for their fans is so much and it shows they appreciate them. LoL is the best free to play game and will be for a long time.
