What a wild but also kind of boring year. In the beginning, we were all concerned about online learning and how it would affect teachers and students. My main concern for this year was not getting a B in any class because last year I had a pretty sizable amount of them. Four of them actually. I thought that it would be easy. How could I get a B in an online class? Then it finally kicked in. Once the first few weeks of school had passed and the real learning began some of my classes became a little challenging. I underestimated the amount of work and effort that was still required to succeed in this environment and as a result, I ended the semester with my only B in Chemistry. Still a sizable improvement over Freshman year, but had I been more prepared and put more effort into that class in the beginning of the year I could have ended with a 4.0 in the first semester.
Luckily, I learned from that experience and decided to put more time and effort into online learning and ended with A’s in all classes at the end of this year. It was a little more effort having to do more work and take more time to review concepts but in the end it was worth it. I also probably couldn’t have made it through the year without my friends and family. Although not being able to see and interact with people on a day to day basis like in a normal school environment, hanging out with them every so often and talking with them over the internet was a great thing to have in order to keep me sane and motivated to keep working towards the end of the year. This year will be one that I will remember for quite a while and recall like those old guys on a rocking chair in the country.
