2020 – 2021 year recap

If I were to say we didn’t do anything year, that would be a lie. Even though everything wasn’t the same after the lock-down. I managed to get through school with good spirits and high hopes that this pandemic will not last no longer. If we were to start with the day I first heard the news when we were going to lockdown. I remember it crystal clear to where I was, what I was thinking about, and my thoughts about how the future is going to be. I remembered being at school after a rainy day, one of my friend, who’s mother was a board member. Told me that the board members are having a discussion whether they should put school on a lock-down until this illness pass away.

After I heard about it, first thing that came to my mind was this pandemic was going to last for a very long time. Especially one year and three months. I went to sleep knowing there is a pandemic outside and two weeks break. At first, all I did was played video games with my friends. We were grateful that there is such a way to “skip” school. Eventually, things became repetitive and I missed going to school. I wanted the opposite of what most students would want and that is to go outside and life to go back to the way it was. I missed playing Tennis with my team, I missed going back to school, and I missed hanging out with my friends physically.

Summer came, I knew straight away that this Summer wasn’t going to be the usual. Couple of activities I did to occupied myself from going insane. I read books that usually I wouldn’t have time for, I learned how to card shuffle and extra tricks with it, I learned how to edit videos using a software., and I’ve been working out at home. The rest of my Summer goes by pretty quick without anything significant or memorable. Then school came, but there was an option whether it should be hybrid or 100% online. I chose what most people did, and I went for 100% online. The first day of school was a disaster. the website we used to access our zoom meetings went down for several hours. I barely managed to access my classroom, when my teacher decided to send a meeting link via email.

Couple of goals I had in mind before starting this school year were I hope to better myself this year than last year and I hope that I can always learn something new. As the semester went by I was managed to practice many new habits such as going to sleep early, eating healthy, and working out constantly. 1st semester past by like a breeze, there were two occurrences that I went out for special events. I started 2nd semester with the hopes of meeting new people and change my way of thought.

As 2nd semester was about to come to an end, I kept one thing to keep in mind moving forward, I am going to keep learning something new. A message I would like the world to know is that I am going to change this world one step at a time. Even if I’m not going to live centuries from now. One idea I would like to share to people that are close-minded is keep your mind open to fullest, even if its criticism, approvals or recommendations. You never know if something so miniscule can eventually build who you’ll become in the future.
