Don’t just speak up, stand up

Under pressure and tyranny, many people react in tears, blood, and words. But why just words? Many of those that hold power and influence will not suffice for words, it is something they can deem insignificant, something that can be swept away in the dust at their position and disposal. But with action, it can bring much more of a result than what meets the eye. I’m not suggesting violence, I’m suggesting ACTION, physical expression to force attention from those that display arrogance and incoherency. This isn’t something new, there are those who have utilized this method civilly and effectively.

A great activist, known as Emmeline Pankhurst utilized a similar method to what I was elaborating, in-order to ignite a movement for basic women’s rights, influencing many suffragettes and victims to rise to the front of the spear. She stood up to podiums and stages, where she conveyed out at those suffering unequal pay and political rights to take action against government and men who shut their ears off to the women’s demands. They bashed windows, chained government speakers in public, and spread the cause to fellow friends and family.

By Emmeline Pankhurst’s “deeds/actions”, she facilitated the success of Representation of the People Act in 1928, which earned the women to right to vote at the age of 21, regardless of what property they possessed.

By speaking and standing up, you can impact your cause significantly, and show those that they shouldn’t have underestimated and ignored you.

So, even in the face of adversity, you as an individual, who may feel obsolete or insignificant, can still face against all odds and achieve what others cannot. Just remember through words, it convinces others to take action, and when people take action, a purpose is born, and when purposes are born, figures of influence are formed to convey these purposes. Then through death, these figures become legends, and when a person looks upon a legend, it gives them courage and strength to speak words.
