When a person decides to make a life-changing decision it usually affects the people around them. That’s why it’s ideal to think about it first. In the story, They Called Us Enemy, which is based on a true story, the Japanese make a huge decision that they knew could potentially change the lives of hundreds of thousands of Japanese all over America. With that, they proceeded to charge at America, changing the future of the Japanese.
As I read about what happened to George’s family, I wondered why Japan had to make such a big decision that would create problems for the people who were innocent. Innocent people had to put their lives to a stop, because the Japan army made a decision without consulting the affect on the Japanese in America.. Many of these people traveled to America to create better lives for their families, just for that to be ruined. The innocent were getting consequences for others actions.
As the story went on, and all these people were taken to camps, all I could thing about was how the parents felt. They had no clue how long they were going to be there for, and how their living situation was going to be like. I couldn’t even imagine how they felt deeply, all I could do was assume. No one knew how they were going to be treated either, creating more of a scare for their children.
In conclusion, all I can really say is that the innocent were paying for the actions of the people who deserved it. The Americans assumed the potential actions of people who in reality, had no intentions of hurting anyone. So, as a person decides to do something, they need to realize how it may affect people around them. It’s kind of like, think before you speak but within the actions of one.
