After reading this whole novel it made me realize that you can be wealthy and buy anything you want but the only thing that makes you happy isn’t bought with money. Yes I do agree money does buy happiness but it’s short term. For example you can buy a new car and be stoked that it’s an expensive nice car but you’re eventually going to be used to driving the same expensive cars and living lavishly. I feel like that’s how Gatsby feels. He can have all the wealth in the world and yet all that money cant get him what he really wants.If I was a millionaire I feel like I would be happy because I can buy whatever I want without having to worry about having enough money for it. That takes stress off but as time goes on as all rich people say “more money, more problems’ because after a while of getting what you want you just start wanting more and more until everything you want is something that can’t be obtained using money. In the book there is a green light that they shine and it’s supposed to represent all of Gatsby’s dreams and hopes for the future. I feel like that is a good way of sticking to what you want because every night he has a sign that symbolizes that one day he will be successful in getting wealth and also getting Daisy. I feel like everyone wants to be rich but like at what cost. Nowadays all these rappers are getting famous and getting so much money and they can’t even spend it because they do drugs and get into gang activity and die before the age of 25. What i’m trying to say is money can buy happiness but its short term and it can benefit you to have money because it takes the stress off of worrying if you have enough money but that is about it.
