organic architecture

Organic architecture is the most fascinating form of architecture because it connects the inhabitant to nature and expresses creativity due to the lack of ideological structure and formatting. No two buildings are the same and they typically don’t fit societal standards of a perfect home. Also are demonstrated as works of art.

To begin, Organic architecture is a philosophy of architecture which promotes harmony between human habitation and the natural world. Organic architecture takes a thoroughly developed mind to understand and appreciate this gracious form of art. So if you find that you don’t like it, remember this information. Some examples you may be familiar with would be arches or rounded styles and hopefully by the end of this presentation you find a new interest or learn something new. You might begin to think of characteristics that apply to organic architecture, however, there are few restrictions on what this art can and cannot be, as long as it provides grace and originality. But first, let’s start with the problem.

So imagine this, me in no more than 20 years, I’m in my private jet (using sustainable fuel) and I look down and see this, covering all the land. TO begin, it’s ugly, it’s overdone, i don’t want to see it anymore. But unfortunately When people shop for a home to settle down, or start a family, they normally would look for something like this, a nice suburban neighborhood with a safe environment. Don’t get me wrong, this does seem quite nice and some may say even a necessity for the american dream for some. But let’s look at the possibilities.

No, no one wants to live here. It’s much too loud I don’t get it.

Besides the health effects that come with living so close to major roadways like this, no one wants to live here, no matter how much you may think you want to, you can’t convince me, it just doesn’t make sense.

You know what all of those pictures lacked? Nature. Alicia Keys would say “concrete jungle where dreams are made of” and to that I say, Alicia you’re wrong. We need a real jungle to live out these dreams. As much as I would like to blame Alicia for the downfall of nature pursuing architecture, I don’t think she understands her options. So Let’s take a look.

One thing that makes organic architecture is the connection to nature that can be experienced. These pieces of art often have open rooms or windows that allow the inhabitant to experience the purity of the outside world. This is much better, now you may be thinking, I don’t really like the location. I don’t like nature. First, that’s just odd, if you prefer the polluted freeways, you do you i guess but that’s just weird. So I suppose we can look at some other examples.

Are you kidding me, look at this. Enough said, but unfortunately for the assignment I must say more. From this there is no escape from the world. You wake up, look at some trees, make breakfast, look at some rocks, go to bed, look at some moss. All day everyday. But at this point that’s all we do anyways, just a cycle, wake up, do school, go to bed. I would much rather have a repeating routine where I can be surrounded by growth and perfection.

Why wouldn’t you want to live on the side of a hill. Maybe natural disaster, to that I say YOLO. Live on the side of a hill. Live life on the edge one might say. At this point, I have passive-aggressively said too much on the nature aspect of organic architecture. Lets see some more.

Architecture is one of the world’s most common forms of art. So how can we tell what’s good art and what isn’t. Now art is subjective, not everyone understands it. But based off of the presentation so far, we can guess that organic architecture would be filled with creativity and unique pieces.

This on the left looks like a modernized Flintstones house. And on the right looks magical, with stained glass and unique windows, this may be one of the most comforting pieces of art i have ever seen.

Look, a conversation pit, stained glass, and fancy skylights, what else could you possibly dream of. While it may be overwhelming, I don’t care, you’ll get used to it. Everything compliments each other so nicely and the opportunities for customization are endless.

You know when you drive by a house and you think “have i been here before”. Probably not, it just looks the exact same as the rest of the houses in that area. Organic architecture ensures that won’t happen, lets see what we got.

Some might say “Hannah this is cool but near impossible, most of these houses wouldn’t be permitted by the city to build because they may not be fit for disaster” Lets stop and think, how often does disaster occur. Not enough to keep yourself from having a cool home. Disaster doesn’t discriminate, It will take down every home in its path, whether or not they follow city permits. So just do it, if you can knock down your house and rebuild completely. Keep nothing.

A lot of buildings that demonstrate organic architecture, many have underground type levels, and are often surrounded by plants. And we’ve seen a few examples, however no two pieces looked the same. Some may share similar structures but they are still unique enough to differentiate between each one.

So while this may be a future goal, Cut it out. ask yourself why. No nature, no art, and no originality. remember the problem

And remember our solution.
