There has been a long standing debate between both Disney and Pixar fans. Both animation studios have produced a wide range of movies, from highest grossing animated movies to flops. However, in 2006, Disney decided to buy out Pixar and they started working together.

The studio provided us with movies such as with movies such as The Lion King, The Incredibles 2, and Mulan. These movies are iconic. They brought us memories and taught us life lessons in a fun and meaningful way. For example, many young adults can remember growing up watching The Lion King and it became the highest grossing animated movie of all time netting 1 billion dollars, which adjusted for inflation would be 2 billion. The iconic film Incredibles 2 which came out in 2018 also made similar numbers. Other movies like Mulan taught valuable life lessons. Mulan wasn’t allowed to fight in the army and broke gender norms in doing so. She was supposed to bring honor to her family but instead dishonored her family. Although she was at first considered to have dishonored her family she became the greatest warrior in China.

Disney and Pixar have also managed to make some of the most memorable characters ever. Many adults as well as teenagers would probably be able to name almost every character pictured on the left. Some might say that the era of Disney animated films are over, however, younger children are getting the same experience as seen with the hit movies Frozen I and II.

Disney and Pixar are iconic. The Disney Castle introduction is one of the most easily recognizable movie introductions ever with the amazing visuals and background soundtracks. The Pixar intro is no less iconic with every 2000’s kid remembering the lamp jumping on the letter I.

Movies like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Tangled were able to teach children the important life lessons and themes. Beauty and the Beast taught that people should not be judged by their appearance but instead by their character character and actions. In Aladdin it’s taught that wealth and appearances aren’t everything and being true to yourself is more important. In Tangled it’s taught that it’s good to push boundaries and its ok to be scared.

Mickey Mouse, Ariel, and most recently Elsa, these animated characters will continue to be celebrated in the years to come. The Toy Story trilogy was one of the most renowned animated movies in the late 90s and early 2000s with the famous toys Woody the Cowboy and Buzz Lightyear. Although, growing in age Disney princesses continue to be acknowledged as role models for children because of their kindness, intelligence, bravery, and sense of adventure.
With globally recognized characters and an enormous influence over animated films Disney animation studios has captured the hearts and minds of children and adults for almost a century. The animation studio has created age old classics will continue to be the best and thrive in the coming years.
