Rainy weather

Transcript:

Let’s get this started. The problem is that not enough people like the rain. You know they probably prefer the sunny and warmer temperatures ’cause they can go to the beach or ride their bikes with friends or something like that. But personally I’m an introvert and I much enjoy staying in my room. I hate going outside, that’s not for me. Anyways, I’m here to convince people. To the best of my abilities,if I can.

Reasons to love the rain

1. The rain is calming

2. It brings water and life

3. An excuse to be lazy

Reason 1- Why the rain is calming is pretty interesting actually. It’s because the sound or well, the rain drops when it hits the floor, it has a certain rhythm and sound to it that overstimulates our brains. Another thing is that the sound of the rain is very predictable. We all know what it sounds like, therefore it calms our nerves and especially people who have anxiety. And there’s another thing about rain that the smell it has actually helps us with our memory. Fun fact I guess.

Reason 2- Well, we all know that rain is a key part in living things. It’s apart of the water cycle, and it fills our aqueducts which isn’t very easy to access. It fills rivers and lakes and it’s our freshwater, it’s our water source. Unlike the ocean which is saltwater, we need the rain. We need it to grow our fruit and food. We are water, we need it, it’s life. It’s just crazy how much we depend on it. I just think it’s very important.

Reason 3- My last reason is that rain is an excuse to be lazy, and I am a pretty lazy person, so I think this is well…very important. I included a quote that I’m pretty sure most of us have heard.

“I don’t want to go run errands… it’s raining.”

or I don’t want to go do this, it’s raining. I don’t want to drive, I’m going to sit at home and be lazy. My dad has said “you don’t have to do the chores it’s raining” and I’m like “thank god I can go lay in my bed and listen to the rain and stuff.” It’s just great. Rain can also cancel your practices for something and you don’t have to go run 3 miles, you know.

Lets talk about deeper

I covered the basics about reasons to love the rain but there is more to it. Why do we need the rain? Well urbanization has rapidly increased our use of surface rain water. It’s important we don’t take rain for granted because who knows when our lands will fall into a drought. Unlike other natural disasters, drought are difficult to estimate when it’s come to an end, even harder to predict when an area will experience droughts. So rain harvesting is beneficial, plus the surface water we receive doesn’t met our expectations for needing water.

Rain is more then just weather, it’s life!
