There was once a grizzly bear, snail, and turtle hybrid animal named Bubba. Bubba was a small guy that lived in Mile Square Park, under a rock next to the pond. He would spend his days wandering the grounds, eating whatever he could scavenge. His life was good, except for one thing, Bubba was always lonely. To be blunt, Bubba was an outcast. Being the only one of his kind in the world, it was a common sight to see him roaming the sidewalks, attempting to make friends with the geese, the bugs his size, and even some of the birds. But as expected, they never accepted him. They all thought Bubba was so weird for being so much different from them. This was because he was a creature that no one could relate to being so unique. One day, Bubba went up to a group of squirrels hanging by a tree. As he approached them, they all gazed with peculiarity. They didn’t know what to do with someone so strange. Bubba looked up at them in a way to introduce himself. Simultaneously, they all scoffed and looked away from him. It was a sad sight seeing such a little guy look so down but to Bubba, it was just an ordinary day.
It was a normal day, around evening time. Bubba was making his way to his favorite spot to watch the sunset at the golf course. On his way there, he passed the same group of squirrels who glanced at him. Bubba ignored them and kept going his way until he heard some footsteps behind him. He took a quick peek and saw the squirrels quickly trailing him. He dashed as fast as he could and the squirrels picked up with the same amount of speed. It wasn’t looking good for Bubba until he heard a squeal. He looked back and saw two coyotes eating the squirrels. Bubba watched as he was frozen with fear. The coyotes each got a squirrel of there own and downed them…then they turned to Bubba. With the eyes like an apex predator, they slowly prowled towards him then gave him a sniff. The coyotes both tilted their heads with confusion. They decided they weren’t going to eat him and instead gave him a little lick. Bubba was astonished that someone had finally given him attention and he couldn’t be happier. Bubba continued on his path to his spot. As he gazed at the setting, orange sun, he realized that sometimes, it’s ok to be different.
