Where is Joy?

I believe that most people’s ultimate purpose in life is to find joy, or be happy. It is the constant search for happiness that guides us through life and takes us different places. The decisions we make have taken us to this very moment, right here right now as you read this. The thing with joy is that it can be interpreted in many different ways and comes in many different forms for some people. Love language is also a big factor in determining what brings people joy. As stated by Socrates, the choices we make are driven for our desire of happiness. Everyone looks for it. Joy is the universal goal among humans, arguably the main goal in life. I believe it is human nature to do things in order to pursue the ecstatic feeling of being very happy. But in times like these, where we have all our senses of direction and all our timelines all knocked down and having to rebuild from scratch whether it’s at school, work, relationships with friends , or social skills. Everything we have ever known, suddenly changed while our responsibilities don’t budge, or they have probably increased. It is very difficult to find joy when the big things that made you happy are out of reach. Let alone finding motivation which seems even more difficult to find. Yes, we can find moments in where we laugh, but that’s when I stop and think to myself whether or not I’m actually happy. Yes, I am laughing, but am I genuinely content? It’s so hard to find joy when all seems to be going wrong. Sometimes you find joy in little things although it lasts seconds, and then your mood can instantly switch. We are all in need of this feeling called joy, it can sometimes be found, it can commonly be lost. But when we do have it, I believe that it is important to cherish it, even if you might be faking it and trying to convince yourself that you are truly happy. So, where is Joy? Well, I hope you are able to find the answer soon and keep them from going lost and disappearing again.
