Being Productive.

This year, especially my English class, has taught me so much. It is mot just about reading passages and analyzing, highlighting, annotating, and answering questions anymore. My English class has probably taught me more about life than any of my previous classes. One of the biggest things is being productive and time management. Though I have turned any many assignment this year late, time management is not entirely keeping up with assignment and such. This class has taught me that time management is prioritizing mental health and dealing with problems above finishing school assignment. I never thought of it that way before, having built up stress trying to consistently stay on top of things. Sometimes all you need is to take a break and reevaluate what you have done. Taking a break and analyzing what work you need to do and what you have done so far really helps you get an idea of how much more work you have. If family issues or other issues arise, prioritizing mental health and dealing with personal issues should be put over school. Before, many prioritized staying on top of school work, believing that doing homework automatically translates to being successful in life. Taking care of your mind and body is far more important to being successful in life. This does not mean ditching schoolwork entirely, it just means to know when to take care of yourself over your grades. Pulling all-nighters and drinking energy drinks just to finish work is so bad for you, exhausting your body and mind. Pulling all-nighters has shown to decrease the effectiveness of teaching, making your mind slower because you are tires. Drinking energy drinks can higher your heart rate and insomnia, among other things, because of the high amounts of caffeine. Taking care of your body and eating healthy makes a big difference on how efficiently your brain works. Another way to stay productive, especially during quarantine, is to plan out what you are going to do for the day. Basically assigning tasks to do by the hour. For example, personally, I always do my math homework at five p.m. everyday.
