Do people even prioritize themselves anymore? People’s number one priority is themselves and it will always be that way. No matter the situation or time, focusing on yourself is key. People tend to forget about their number one priorities because they’re busy or distracted with work, friends and family. Even if they’re self-aware that they are more the most important in the room, they will still prioritize others things to satisfy others. The one thing that starts to be a problem is when people start prioritizing objects over themselves, like a phone.
Now, phones are involved in our daily lives, from sleep or workouts, they’re always with us to the point we can’t separate ourselves from them. It’s the connection that makes us bring them with us everywhere we go. Phones aren’t judgmental, intimidating, mean, abusive, or human so there’s no reason for us to hate them, but there’s also no reason to prioritize them to the point where you can’t prioritize yourself on the road.
Yesterday I was in the car with my sister, on the way to target. Every red light we stopped on, there was barely any pedestrians off their phones. I was so disappoint and sad to see a society where people, specifically pedestrians, can’t take 15 seconds to prioritize themselves. In that 15 seconds a or many pedestrians could’ve been ran over, not just because they were on their phones, but also because drivers were on their phones. How surprising that it’s illegal too. Stop using your phones until you’re off the road ladies and gentlemen, prioritize your number one priority.
