Silence

Have you ever sat in a place with nothing but silence? It’s unsettling to most people that have gone through and sat down in those soundproofed rooms. If you’re interested in watching someone go through that experience there’s a neat YouTube series about it by Vsauce. But, that’s not the thing I’m going to talk about here. Well, I should say that I’m rather going to talk about music and sounds in our world.

Generally, when you walk outside you hear the birds chirping, cars driving, and the sounds of your own footsteps. The world is full of random noise no matter where you look. Going through this every day makes you dull to these sounds. It’s hard to imagine a place with zero sounds other than your own breath, but I digress.

Music is the main talking point here. It’s been around for thousands of years by now, and we’ve gotten pretty good at producing these pieces. Have you ever wondered if we’ll ever run out of new tunes and melodies? I mean, I doubt there ever will be an end to unique music any time soon however. Humans are naturally creative and innovative.

That question kinda flows into my next one for you. Have you ever noticed how artists will sometimes remix old pieces of their songs? It adds a new and unique feeling to a piece of work or art. There’s countless videos of people doing this across the internet which is, to me at least, the coolest part about music to me. I head on you tube, and I see people splicing sounds and creating songs with them. It boggles my mind as to how these people are able to create these things.

A world that is completely silent and void of songs is terrifying to me. Musicians and Artists are absolutely necessary in our bustling world, as well as the re-mixing of these works of art. I suppose that the main point I’m trying to get across is that we should appreciate how sounds are, and the human’s ability to create music out of them.

(Also if you’re wondering about the featured image, I just like stupid puns :>)
