Politics

In the recent months, my parents and I have had many quarrels over politics. This is expected because my parents and myself have very different views on politics. My parents and I have very opposing views on the government. I do not support Trump while my parents do. However, I try to find a middle ground between republican and democratic views. I have constantly told my parents that I do not support Trump because of the amount of controversy he has been in, but I do claim that he has done a lot for the country in the economy and etc. My parents want me to support Trump in every way possible. I think they support Trump fully because of their backgrounds. My parents lived in a communist country so I think it is the reason why they have a strong view towards Trump.

My parents consider my views on politics ignorant as they believe that my views are way too democratic. It has been a hard time arguing with them, but they have slowly learned to accept my perspective and adapt to theirs. I specifically used different resources that supported my views, such as New York Times. This helped me support my argument and I also used articles and resources that also supported my parents’ argument. This helped me find a middle ground between opposing views. My parents were very surprised in hearing the cons in their arguments and soon adapted some democratic views.
