There’s this beautiful corset I saw someone wear on Tik Tok. No, not the type that sucks in your stomach to the point where you can’t breathe. Just a top with the style of a corset from the 1800’s. And it is beautiful. It’s the most gorgeous piece of clothing I’ve ever seen in my life.
You may be wondering, “what’s so great about this corset?” It’s a gorgeous shade of pale, forest green and has spiral detailing and beautiful, gold lace trim that lines the top and ties in a bow. I need more words to describe this corset other than “beautiful” and “gorgeous”. How about pulchritudinous, according to theasaurus.com.
I’m a major fashion fanatic and corsets are really “in” right now. I can picture myself in a pulchritudinous (this is my favorite word now) outfit with this green corset, high-waisted cream or off-white pants, a leather jacket, black sunglasses, my hair tied up with a claw clip, a green handbag, and black boots. The thing is since I saw it from a Tik Tok, I didn’t save the video to find where to get this corset.
I feel so drawn towards it as if it were calling me. I mean, that’s what I say to every new piece of clothing I see. So for the past couple of days, I’ve done my research (to find this corset, of course). Fortunately, for me, I came across another Tik Tok with the person who I originally saw wear the corset and so many people in the comments were asking where to find it. Unfortunately though (yes good AND bad news), it’s only available in the U.K. and not in the U.S.
So I guess I have one of two options: move to the UK or make the corset myself. Eh, my best bet would be to sew it myself, piece of cake! (No it isn’t.) Also, it’d be pretty fun since I’ve never sewn a corset before; I’ve only made simple tops. And plus, we’re all stuck at home, so why not!
Will this amateur be able to sew her own version of the pulchritudinous green corset? Or will she fail miserably and end up moving to the UK? Or will she put off this project for months or even years when the corset trend is over? (This is most likely). I don’t know, hopefully she succeeds though. To future me, please do your homework and stop thinking about clothes.
I hope you find or make the corset you’re looking for. I don’t get corsets still though.
