Distance Learning?

This year honestly has been a weird and not so good one so far, I was seriously hyped for 2020 but the Earth said no. Being put in a new situation that nobody has experienced before has not been very fun but I am getting accustomed to it. The most difficult part of staying home without any humanly contact other than your family is probably making the best out of distance learning. Many teachers during this time have been very flexible with students and helping them continue to learn from a computer screen which is extremely appreciated. But there are some teacher that I have that have not changed up the ways of learning and have just made it so that we teach ourselves the material rather than posting videos or things that can significantly aid in our learning.

Some pros of distance learning include: Being able to do homework when you can or want to for some classes because there are no set due dates. Being able to still learn whilst being safe in the vicinity of your home. Being able to finally eat three days a meal with the family more often.

Some cons of distance learning include: Increased laziness when it comes to school work. No structured schedule to follow anymore has ruined my sleep schedule. The homework load for some classes has been A LOT (not English). Because of the situation, everyone including myself has to learn alone which is not as fun, being together with others is what makes it fun for me personally.

After viewing all these pros and cons, it can be seen that distance learning is the best course of action to continue learning during this period of time, but the efficiency of it is dependent on how teachers want their students to learn. For me personally, I have been doing more than fine regarding school, I get all my work done, I have just been really lazy without anyone telling me what to do. I appreciate all of my teachers efforts during this time though, it is difficult for both the student and teacher to mitigate to a completely style of learning that may be unfamiliar to both.

My proudest piece of work from English 🙂
