Distance learning during Quarantine

During Quarantine my experience with school has been different yet interesting. Learning during quarantine was something new for me and everyone. However, it was hard for me to find motivation to do my work or study for classes and was a struggle. I felt really nice to sleep in all the time because during school I tend to get less hours of sleep. What helped me with my distance learning was having google meets with my teachers because they helped me stay motivated to actually do work and it held me accountable for the work I had to do. Having google meets also allowed me to talk to my teacher and ask any questions I had which also helped my learning experience. I also feel like what helped me stay motivated and on track was having my teacher check up on me a couple times a week to make sure I’m doing work and also having a schedule of the week we have planned. What I feel like what didn’t work well for me personally was for one of my classes we didn’t have any google meets and also any homework, so I wasn’t able to check if what I was doing was right and made me unmotivated to do work or study. What I feel like teachers can do in the fall is to check in with students because it really does help and be creative with work that is being assigned and not have it always be repetitive. An assignment that was assigned called “Re/Mix an album cover” was an assignment I really enjoyed doing and creating and I thought it was something different and made me motivated to actually do it. The picture shown above is by Cynthia Thai and was a recreation of the album “Favorite worse nightmare” by Arctic monkeys.
