Where can you even begin with this? The year, 2020, has brought upon an unexpected series of events no one could have even imagined would happen, except those who already knew, the time travelers. It’s crazy interesting to me, I’m sure as well as many others, how certain things in the world can be classified to predict the future. Is it just straight up coincidence? Conspiracies? Time travel? We’ll never know for sure how these predictions align so accurately about the world during this eventful era. This makes me question reality sometimes.

About the reality of this year so far, so many new ideas have soaked itself into my head opening up my mind about what is actually going on in the world which brings upon a new found curiosity. With more time on my hands, I am able to work and learn more precisely not just in school but in general. Of course there were some downs, for example, sleeping in too late and learning straight out of the textbooks, but surprisingly I enjoyed our so-called “distance learning” but there were more aspects than just the learning per se that stood out to me. I feel more engaged with the entire community, even the world. With the protests happening around this time people are able to unite together to fight for a cause they all believe in as a whole even while putting themselves in danger with the virus still active.

Then there is the unknown of when this series of events are going to eventually cease. For us students and teachers, we wonder how school or work is going to look like when we end up back in fall. I’m more of a go with the flow kind of person and whatever happens, happens, it is what it is. But if I had to say something, I feel like there would be a new norm where it is required to constantly check up and maintain students health in class. There would be many sanitizing options and new rules for the protection of everyone. Adults would have to keep up their cautiousness and be more careful of their surroundings.

So much is going to change in possibly revolutionary ways. We are going back in the past as we enter the future. There was a gut feeling from the very beginning that this year was going to be pretty hard to keep up with, not for myself, but we citizens of the world. It is all up for our intelligent race to make the best of the worst situations to allow persistence to thrive as time passes. Wherever this year leads us to, whether it be down a road of repeating our past mistakes, up a path of revolutionary problem solving, or the worst conspiracies aligning with reality, it is up to the people to determine its final outcome.
