Before the pandemic, I had an online health class over the summer. It was very convinient, because I could manage my work however I pleased. The problem that I had with distant learning is that I would look at an assignment and think it would be easy, but it would take more time than I would expect it to. This would lead to me cramming in more work than I wanted to. There is also the burnout that comes to doing the work, being confused, and looking at different source until I find the right one. That was only one class, this time it’s with all 6 of my classes.
During my time with distance learning this semester, I had a troubling experience with distance learning, as in learning new things without the ability to ask questions as freely and as efficient as possible. Some assignments are easy to do, even if they do take time. There are times when I need to ask for help, however, I have no idea what to ask for. I know that I don’t understand it, but I can’t describe what I’m not understanding. It’s pretty frustrating when there is a disconnect in expressing ideas and what needs to be addressed. This builds onto the fact I’m struggling in some of those classes, and I have no idea what we are talking about. It’s as though I’m a headless chicken struggling to go by.

If the system were to change next year, I would want it to be 1/4 of the students in class and 3/4 of the students working online. It checks out for everything. According to “A Collection of Information Regarding Opening HS and MS in Fall 20/21: “ there is social distancing, interaction between the classes, plus it is easy to do. Understandably, not everybody has the luxary to go back and forth to school on select days, or the ability to stay home alone. However, I think that it’s the most effective to implement for next year.
