2020 has been a wild year considering it has only been 5 months in. The world was struck with a global pandemic and it has affected everyones lives. For me, that was the switch from in person classes to having school be online. Many people were forced to lose their jobs and adapt to what’s been happening in society. Not only have we been struck with a pandemic, but people are starting to speak up against police brutality and are fighting for equality. Over the past few days, I have felt so many emotions. I have been angry with how the police are treating peaceful protesters and I have been saddened with how this is our reality. As citizens of the United States, we are promised equality and freedom. This was proven to only be true to some parts of our society, as many are being treated unfairly. There have been peaceful protests going on all around the country and is even happening in my city. People are speaking up for their freedom and exposing how corrupt our society is. My only hope is for the people fighting for their rights to stay safe and for them to get the freedom and equality they deserve in the end.
