When the word was out that we were going on a two week break, I was pretty excited to be honest. I thought that after the break we would be able to go back to school like normal and live our normal lives, but I was wrong. Two weeks went by and we got a notice saying that the shut down will be extended, and that’s when I started to worry. I had a feeling that we wouldn’t be going back so I decided to pick up on a hobby that I forgot about, baking. I’ve baked at least one dessert a week and it brings me joy whenever I do bake because it kills time and I find baking very relaxing. Mother’s day just passed and I made my mom a matcha crepe cake. Usually, I would buy the slices from the bakery store but I decided I wanted to make it from scratch at home. A cake can cost around $48 and I was able to make it at home for under $10! I was so happy with how it turned out and it made me realize I might not have to buy anymore from the store. I’ve tried to challenge myself by trying new recipes and they have been turning out pretty well. It has been 2 months since online school started and i’ve gotten used to it all now. I hope that life can somewhat start to go back to normal soon but as for now, i’ve been lucky enough to have picked up a hobby.
