It was a Friday in the middle of march when everyone’s life was about to change. The intercom speaker turned on and it was announced there would be no school for two weeks due to the current epidemic. Then those two weeks led to a month, the month then led to the whole school year being cancelled. If I am being honest, I was happy with the two week break, I wanted just a two week break from school and to stay at home and relax. But this quarantine has led to my revelations of how I have taken school for granted 😦
Quarantine has certainly stirred up a lot of feelings for all of us. I personally have had to adapt to many changes within my house. I have had to help take care of my brother, cook more often, and help keep the house in shape while my mother and father adapt to changes in their job. I have also been helping tutor my brother with some subjects in school. So it definitely has been a struggle for all of us to adapt to all these new changes, but it is doable.
I made my brother and I a ham and cheese croissant for breakfast one day to help keep him fed 🙂
Although quarantine has had its negative effects on many of us, I have had some positive takeaways from it like: Having the liberty to play games more, choice of when I get to do my homework, the time to hone my culinary skills, etc. It is currently May 27 which means we all have made it through two months of quarantine. The fact that we have pushed through up until now shows that we can strive to go even further (all the way until August for school to start). This is adaptation.
Also here is one of the key factors that has supported my survival during this time.
