For one of my English assignments, I used song titles to make a short message. The message is a note to self and can be applied to any part of life. It is saying that I need to keep going on and moving forward because the world is going to keep spinning. I shouldn’t let myself get down over little things and that pain/happiness is just apart of life. It can also be implied that we as a country need to keep going and stay strong with all the craziness happening. Anyone who feels like they can’t keep going, they need to. I read a quote once that said if you’re in a place where you do not want to be, why should you stop and stay there? You have to keep moving on.

I realized just how much music meant to me while in quarantine. Whenever I have to get away from the chaos of my family, I found that music was the best way to do it. I listen to music on Spotify and YouTube. It is so easy to find a playlist, put some headphones in, and blast the music. I love blasting music and having dance parties in my room at midnight. Midnight is normally the only time I have the most energy but when I am also extremely tired.
There are so many songs for any type of mood I am in. I have so much respect to people who can write their own music and play instruments because that is not easy, at least not for me. I find that the only way to communicate my feelings is with music and dance. I can’t write my own music but I can write my own choreography to a song that fits my mood. Music is so diverse and its amazing. I think I would actually go insane if we never had music or it all got deleted somehow. It helps me deal with all the stress and anxiety in life. There is nothing better than showing someone a song that I really like and they end up liking it too! It makes me feel really special and like I did my job as a friend.
One of the things I love about being on the color guard is that I get to dance to music that makes me feel good and with people who surround me with love. Regardless if the music is good or not, I love performing to it. I try to perform my hardest at each of our competitions because my coach says, “you never know when it could be your last”. We learned that lesson the hard way when our whole season got cancelled due to COVID-19. It was one of the most heartbreaking things we had to go through as a team because we knew that we were destined to win big things during this season. I was on the Varsity team this year and our show this year was my favorite out of the 3 years I have been on the team. The song was so special that almost anyone could relate to it. The song was called “Still Have You”, by Freya Ridings. I am so thankful that I could to spin with that team.

I can’t wait to hear all the new music that has to do with the lockdown and other things. It is important for everyone to express their feelings during this time because it could get really suffocating keeping it all inside. I hope everyone is staying safe!
I love how you used song titles to create a message. How did you create that image with the titles on the right like that?
