Together: The Key to Quarantine

As I read the Gate-4 poem, what really stuck with me was the idea of sharing what we know to help others, and how working together (yet socially distant) with the people around us can help everyone survive quarantine.

The online or distanced interactions I have had with my friends during this crazy time has really been what’s keeping me going. Whether it is trying a new lunch place that my friend recommended (Greenleaf – see my featured image!) or listening to new songs my friends share with me, I have stayed connected with the people around me that I care about. My friends and I share things with each other – new places to eat, new artists to listen to, new places to watch the sunset – and it has really helped me get through the past two months.

The poem reminded me of this, and I really think others need to be reminded that, just because we can’t physically be close, we can still share our experiences with others and it can go a long way towards making them feel connected during this time of isolation. Positive human interaction can always improve someone’s day. You never know how your knowledge can improve the lives of others, just like the kind lady at the airport who used what she knew to help the soothe the distraught lady.
