Finding Comfort

Like the podcast from this week, I tried to find comfort in the interesting yet familiar setting of quarantine. Something that has always helped me feel calm in any uncertain situation was music. Being able to listen to songs, de-stress, and avoid the world for a bit was very helpful. Finding new music and listening for the first time also bring great experiences for me and my mood instantly goes up. This week, I set a goal to find a new artist. I use Spotify and I already follow a playlist that gives me new song recommendations weekly, so it gave me a good head-start to my goal. While doing homework on Monday, I was listening to the playlist. There were some good songs I added to my playlist, but nothing stood out. I was nearing the end of the playlist, when I finally found a song that I really liked. I checked the artist and was pleasantly surprised. I started listening to all of their songs and have accomplished my goal. Listening to their albums has helped me get through this week. I am now a fan of ASL. And their name is quite different but unique, and does not mean American Sign Language. It’s been amusing for me to listen to their music and I don’t think my week would’ve been as good if I didn’t have this goal at the beginning of the week.
