Fear

Every difficult situation I have ever been in has involved me battling fear in some way or another. Fear is a difficult but necessary feeling in our lives. Although living in fear, has given me a different perspective on the topic. I never thought I’d ever see the day where our lives actually got flipped turned upside down. Everything closed, everything desolate, major cities across the United States closed, and for what reason?

6:20 a.m. Santa Ana Riverbed. (Usually full of morning bikers and joggers)

Living in fear is common in many dictatorships like countries such as China, North Korea, and Venezuela. Living in fear in the United States is very uncommon and unlike Americans. Living in fear by not a forceful leader, but by a strong flu bug? As controversial as it may seem, I believe more people have been affected by the closures than the corona virus itself. I have empathy for those who are forced to succumb to their states laws and close, but to people who are too scared to leave their houses, surprise me.

The 1940 olympics (Cancelled)

This year was supposed to be the year of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, which was postponed earlier this year due to the corona virus. The last olympics to be canceled was the 1940 olympics due to Japan allying with Hitler during WWII. The corona virus has taken so much from so many but to go as far to cancel a worldwide tradition from a scary flu virus, is once again astonishing to me. This is very biased but I am speaking from my heart and how I feel, as this has affected me personally.

Huntington Beach protests May 1st

I’ve seen many hateful words said about the Huntington Beach protests, but I’m proud of my city to see a stand made by so many people. I love to see a community come together after so long of distancing and separation. The cause of this protest was to open the beach which was closed by Governor Gavin Newsom. Due to the protests the beach was open, but this does not mean the protesters will fold so soon. This is only the beginning to the fight against the constant extensions of opening up. We need to get our country back to the way it was, and make sure fear mongering is not a common theme anymore.
