A 2 week break. The students of Fountain Valley High School rejoiced, with the thought of a miniature “vacation” in mind. Recalling those last moments at school where I was cheerfully discussing the school closure with my friends, I contemplated on how foolish I had looked, not truly considering what the future would hold. If you really think about it, it was just a pipe dream to have an epidemic of this scale to cease within 2 weeks, even with strict restrictions and regulations. Realistically, it’s simply impossible to convince every single citizen of America to not panic or not panic enough, and ignore those regulations that could’ve stopped the transmission of the virus.

Now, after a month, here we are. It almost feels like Groundhog Day, but instead of the same day repeating itself, it’s the continuation of identical days. Wake up(at 11), homework, exercise, eat, games, and sleep. As a person who’s not that found of venturing out into the unknown, I am not really against this repetition(I’m actually pretty happy about that), but being deprived of meeting with my friends and the restriction of movement outside the house, and the ever increasing amount of homework as AP testing closes near, it’s fair to say that going to school would have been the better option.
Concerning food, it’s very worrying that so many people are starting to rely on take-outs and fast foods on a daily basis, because they aren’t the best(health-wise). Some people are blessed to have a family member that can cook (e.g. my sister/mother) or possess the will to cook themselves or learn to cook(not me), but knowing that not everyone has the will to cook two-three times a day for a month straight, along with those that use the quarantine as an excuse not to exercise as much(maybe me), I am equally worried about the health issues that this quarantine will cause in the future.

I should start cooking too…
