Quaran(Rou)tine

There’s a common theme to everyone’s, “life in quarantine,” and every response I’ve received has been been negative. Let’s be honest with ourselves here, there’s not much a person can do in quarantine. To a certain extent, a basic routine will eventually get boring. Every persons routine is different, but I believe I can empathize with everyone that we want it to be over, and soon too. Although this quarantine has taken every person by surprise, there’s a lot we can do to make the best out of it. One specific activity that I have taken is creating new and healthier foods.

My quaran(rou)tine always begins with waking up very early and going on a run. I absolutely love doing this because it wakes me up for the day and I feel amazing afterwords. To consistently be able to run and feel amazing, I eat very healthy. Although many foods I do like to eat contradict my diet, in my effort to eat healthier and enjoy myself I search for delicious, low sugar, low carbohydrate recipes for food that I love to eat. Sour cream and onion dip has always been served to me from a little processed packet, so in quarantine I decided to make a healthier homemade alternative, and it tastes amazing.

Homemade peanut butter cookies (4-4 was when the recipe was uploaded)

I try to take my diet seriously but I must fuel those sweet cravings that I have so often. I do closely watch what I eat for the purpose of being able to stay fit. To fuel my sweet cravings, I like to do research on healthy baking recipes. To my surprise, I found this low sugar, low carbohydrate cookie recipe, and I couldn’t pass on the opportunity to create it. These peanut butter cookies are some of the tastiest and easiest cookies I’ve ever made.

Boba Tea I tried for the first time (I did not make this myself)

Being a little adventurous with our food choices does steer away from the idea of maintaining that routine. Although, adding a little flavor to our quaran(rou)tine can lead us to taking a different path, and maybe enjoying that path. Now lets rephrase the question, “how is your life in quarantine going.” In conclusion It’s better to focus on the positive in this scenario so I’d like to say I’ve improved as a person since this quarantine began and have opened myself up to new ideas and opportunities.

  1. I clicked on that PB cookie link and scrolled for 3 days on Tik Tok and now my brain has been injured but I still couldn’t find the recipe. Do you have a direct link to the specific recipe? I want to try it for sure. Thanks.

    • Hello Mr. Theriault! I am very sorry about that Yes I do, the recipe is:
      1 cup brown sugar
      1 cup peanut butter
      1 egg
      1 tsp Baking Soda
      0.5 cup choc. Chips
Place the scoops of cookie batter on baking sheet, bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 min
Pro tip: After taking the cookies out of the oven let them sit on the baking sheet for 5 min so they don’t fall apart.
I hope your brain doesn’t hurt too much!
